Hans van Rhoon

His roots lie in Rotterdam (1958) which explains his preference for cropping and solid design. Later, this preference appeared in his geometrical abstract works of art, until 10 years ago when he migrated to photography. His photos too, portray the search for balance and the capture of unruly elements in defined forms.

The photographer’s travel reports are the primary manifestation of this search. An important theme here, is his fascination for the relationship between man and his environment, encompassing similarities, contrasts and discrepancies.
His most important challenge comprises capturing the natural beauty and warmth of those worldly regions that are often negatively portrayed in the media.
